J.L. Horton is the younger of the two pastors Sgt. Horton raised. He accepted Jesus as Savior and was baptized in the Holy Spirit at a lay witness mission led by Walter Bennet. His training, which was largely supplemented by Sgt. Horton, includes two charismatic bible colleges, an evangelical seminary, two short term "healing schools," and a "Friday Night School of the Holy Spirit". J.L.'s articles have appeared in numerous magazines including "Charisma", "The Pentecostal Evangel", and E.T.H.&S's "Revival Call." J.A. Dennis, the man he considers his mentor, published many of his articles between 1977-1985 in "The Texas Herald."
Jesus has blessed J.L. with a beautiful wife, Pamela. She co-pastors Firewater Fully Gospel Fellowship with him. Their handsome and anointed son, Andrew, leads worship. Firewater was founded upon a highly confirmed vision calling men to be real men through repentance, prayer, fasting, lovingly "doing right" by their families, and seeking more of Jesus. Also having a vision of a "Sanctified Second Jesus Movement" they hold youth oriented church services Sundays 10:30am at the coffee shop two blocks west of the town square.
