The Lord spoke to me recently about the future of our nation. He said the reason He has shown mercy to America is because of the mercy we've shown others. This mercy exemplified in the American fighting man (and woman). We have fed our enemies, rebuilt nations who attacked us, and routinely treated civilians humanely in lands we occupied. Who was there for us during Katrina? Who have we not been there for in other nation's catastrophes? As I write this men and women in uniform are distributing food, medicine, and aid to Haiti and elsewhere. Not to mention the freedom, prosperity, and the gospel America has spread worldwide. We can confidently pray "God bless America"because our prosperity means widows and orphans worldwide having bread. We have fallen short! But the problem is not our being a Christian nation. The problem is our departure from that. Thank you all you veterans and those presently serving. You "Sgt. Hortons"out there who love Jesus and our country, play by the rules, and show compassion when possible. When I hear of your heroic deeds and acts of kindness I want to shout "Remember Sgt. Horton!"and "Sgt. Horton was here!" You servants of God and Country are Sgt. Horton's Saga!
